Resumen
Esta investigación cualitativa con enfoque de estudio de caso tuvo como objetivo describir, analizar y comprender las experiencias de cuidado cultural de madres durante el tratamiento de la diarrea infantil. Basada en teorías de Wojtyla, Leininger y Waldow, se realizó en el asentamiento humano 9 de Febrero, distrito de Mórrope. Se entrevistó a 6 madres con hijos menores de cinco años. Los datos se analizaron y clasificaron en dos categorías: búsqueda de ayuda profesional y cuidados basados en creencias culturales. Las madres primero acuden al centro de salud y luego utilizan plantas medicinales como orégano, ajo, hierba luisa y cáscara de granada. También emplean objetos culturales y rezos. Se concluye que las madres combinan prácticas médicas y culturales en el cuidado de sus hijos.
Abstract This qualitative research with a case study approach aimed to describe, analyze, and understand the cultural care experiences of mothers during the treatment of childhood diarrhea. Based on theories by Wojtyla, Leininger, and Waldow, the study was conducted in the 9 de Febrero settlement, Mórrope district. Six mothers with children under five years old were interviewed. Data were analyzed and categorized into two themes: seeking professional health assistance and cultural care practices. Mothers first visit health centers and then use medicinal plants such as oregano, garlic, lemon verbena, and pomegranate peel. They also use cultural objects and prayers. It is concluded that mothers combine medical and cultural practices in caring for their children.
